Analysis and separation results are estimates produced by signal processing, not definitive verdicts. Quality depends on the source recording.
Changing pitch and tempo without changing the other
Speeding up a tape raises its pitch; this tool separates the two so you can transpose a song into a comfortable singing key without making it sound faster, or slow a solo down for practice without dropping it a semitone.
Pitch is adjusted in semitones with optional cent-level fine tuning, which is useful when a recording sits between concert pitch and A=432 Hz, or when a band tuned slightly flat. Tempo is expressed as a percentage of the original, and the page shows the resulting BPM so you always know what you are playing along to.
The detected key and tempo of the loaded file are shown automatically, and both labels follow your adjustments: transpose up three semitones and the displayed key moves with you, including the matching Camelot code for DJ harmonic mixing.
How to use the song key & tempo changer
- 01Load a song; its key and BPM are analysed automatically.
- 02Set the pitch shift in semitones, and fine-tune in cents if needed.
- 03Set the tempo as a percentage of the original — the target BPM updates live.
- 04Play back to check the result, then export the processed audio.
Frequently asked questions
Yes — the two controls are independent. Leave pitch at 0 and move only the tempo slider for practice loops that stay in the original key.
Up to about three or four semitones in either direction usually sounds natural. Larger shifts introduce formant artefacts, especially on vocals.
The label is transposed with the audio and shown in both standard notation and Camelot, so you can keep a DJ set harmonically consistent.
